First Mate Boating Class

Ahoy matey & welcome to First Mate class with USCG Charter Captain Andy Benedict. The class will introduce fundamental skills needed to assist a Captain and become a good First Mate. Students will learn how to throw a cast net, cast a rod, boat safety and basic marine terminology. Gain knowledge in fish hooks, weights, fishing line, knot tying and how to properly rig live bait on a hook. Additionally, students will learn fundamentals of launching, anchoring and docking/mooring a boat. Class will focus on fun but will also teach safety and conservation practices. Ages 8-16 years old. Next classes will be Nov 8 - Dec 13
