Upcoming Concert on New Casavant Pipe Organ
recently installed at Palm Harbor Church
(PALM HARBOR) St. Alfred’s Episcopal Church in Palm Harbor recently commissioned the building of a new pipe organ from the Casavant Frères organ builders in St. Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada which was delivered and installed over a period of six weeks this summer. The organ has 2,019 pipes and cost just over $1 million, which was raised by parishioners and friends of St. Alfred’s Episcopal Church. This project is the fulfillment of a 40-year dream that began with the vision of Fr. David R. Moores, the second Rector of the Parish.
To mark the momentus occasion, there will be several celebratory organ concerts held this fall- for donors and church parishioners, as well as for local residents. A special concert will be performed on Sunday, October 15^th by St. Alfred’s Organist-Choirmaster, Kevin Johnson, at which all interested residents in the greater Palm Harbor community are welcome to attend.
The concert will be held in the sanctuary of St. Alfred’s Episcopal Church, located at 1601 Curlew Road in Palm Harbor. There will be a freewill offering and ample parking is available. For more information, contact the church office at 727-785-1601.
